For as long as We can remember, Oriental Shorthair Cats have been our soul passion in life. From growing up training our own Cats as well as our neighbours, to intently watching Cat shows as children, our love and passion for cats has always been a huge focal point in our life.
During one of these Cat shows, We introduced ourself to a friendly American couple who lived beside us. In turn, they introduced us to their 1 year old, blind Oriental Shorthair Cat named Penny. After a year and half of research into the breed, speaking to countless breeders and meeting more Oriental Shorthairs, We knew We were hooked and couldn't live without one.
Years later, We bought our first Oriental Shorthair from Utah. From getting into anything he could to being a complete terror, he not only ignited our love for the Breed, he found a permanent spot in our hearts.
Although he would never be the show Cat We hoped, we did (and Do!) everything else together. From Rally to obedience to agility to barnhunt and scent detection - there is NOTHING this little Cat can't do. He's taught me invaluable lessons from how to handle his mischievous ways to the importance of being a good sport and competitor in and out of the show/performance ring
Our first Oriental Shorthair "Mark" was neutered at two years of age and although he would never directly be included in our breeding program, he deserved to be an important part in it.
It was this little charming cat who taught me something important when it comes to owning this breed and all their quirks and that is to have a sense of humour, always.
Our ultimate goal for our breeding program is to produce sound Oriental Shorthair Kittens of beautiful type, gentle expression, and a rock solid temperament cat a family home. Our committed to every cat We breed for its entire lifetime.
Oriental Shorthairs are our love and passion, not a business. They are and forever will be the centre-part of our home. We do expect each and every Kitten We place in their forever homes to have the care they would have with me - if not better.
Our long-term goal for our breeding program is to preserve the breed as we know and love it. As a Preservation Breeder, our goal is to take the guesswork out of your next Cat's history, health, predicted size, temperament, and life expectancy. We have a lifelong commitment to each and every Oriental Shorthair We bring in to this world and will take any of our Cats back for any reason at any time.
For those who share a strong passion for the breed as We do, We are always willing to serve as a mentor and guide throughout the Cat's life as our owners navigate through Cat ownership. We are purely dedicated to breeding solely for the purpose of preserving and protecting the original purpose and function of the breed by creating companions that are healthy, of sound body and mind, and predictable in nature.

The Oriental cat is not only beautiful but also is highly intelligent. She can be trained to walk on a lead. This does not mean, however, that she can be trained to do everything you might wish. Like most other highly intelligent breeds, the Oriental has her own desires. The Oriental is an affectionate cat and requires her parent to be as dedicated to her as she is to her parent. The parent must be affectionate to the Oriental and must spend some time spent playing with her.
Parents can tell when the Oriental gains weight. Oriental cats show a pot belly even after indulging in one day of over eating. The nutrition must be carefully controlled for this breed. The long, slim legs are not made to hold a fat body.
Orientals are great jumpers and love heights. For this reason, perches and cat trees should be provided. Oriental cats love to play and appreciate toys around the house for their pleasure. While the coat needs little care, the Oriental Shorthair associates brushing with affection and will enjoy being groomed. As elegant as the Oriental looks, she can be quite a lap cat. She is extremely affectionate and will sleep next to her parent in bed.
In the 1910s and 1920s in Britain, the Siamese cat was extremely popular. Part of the attraction was the unusual color restriction or pointing. Because of this coloring, breeders determined that all solid colors should be excluded from this breed. The name "foreign shorthair" was given to the first solid color Siamese cats. These cats, which had a myriad of colors and patterns, are now known under the breed name Oriental.
The Oriental is essentially a Siamese cat with a different coat color. A breeding program of Orientals may produce some cats that carry the color restricted pattern of the Siamese, but they are still considered Orientals.
Over time Orientals produced some longhair kittens. These are now recognized as a separate breed called the Oriental longhair. The Oriental longhairs are much less common than are Orientals with short hair.
